About Okeechobee

Okeechobee, a community of over 5,000 residents, sits on the north shore of Florida's largest freshwater lake, Lake Okeechobee. Known as the "Speckled Perch Capital of the World," Okeechobee residents, along with out-of-town visitors, celebrate that title at the Speckled Perch Festival. Okeechobee is also known for its access to Florida wildlife, and its central location puts it just a couple hours' drive from Miami, Orlando and Tampa.
